The road leading up to the clock tower front of Darlington railway station would benefit hugely from investment. At the moment it is a collection of run-down shops and bars that presents a grimy, neglected aspect to anyone getting off a train and walking down Victoria Road. This is a great shame, as the centre of Darlington, inside the ring road, is well-maintained and attractively presented. Outside the ring road, sadly, is a different story, and Victoria Road leading to and from the station is a prime example of an area crying out for investment.
