Help restore the market to what it once was. Tynemouth has a successful market every weekend. Maybe build more permanent stalls or cover over a portion of the marketplace to create an indoor market for all weathers. Those who have stalls at Tynemouth at the weekend likely would want stalls elsewhere during the week. Support these local vendors and encourage them to come to Blyth. Lowering rates would probably help.
Draw in more shops, cafés, restaurants etc. to create a more bustling atmosphere and attract more people – both local and tourists – to the area. This would help to transform Blyth and also boost the economy by having more people coming to the town and spending in the shops and cafés that are invested in. Support local businesses and have more unique shops and boutiques much like Tynemouth and Morpeth. Again, lower rents. Charging more is just pricing yourself out the market.
