Thankfully Hereford (pre current council) and championed by the current one have passed a climate emergency that sets to deliver carbon neutral county. This mirrors many of the county Parishes and also national and international positions / commitments / polices. The actions to achieve this generally lowers costs for homes / business and community whilst creating great opportunities for investment. In doing so – Creating county financial and environmental benefit as well as creating and preserving jobs. The opportunities are huge and WE can all benefit. What is needed ? – strong long term drivers on policy, practical and social support to develop and also infrastructure. Not least of these is grid and again this is a huge investment opportunity to unlock much of the above. So suggest the county gets ever more serious about climate change in terms of the threats and risks but pushes policy and investment to tackle this by unlocking the huge social and economic benefit.
