Safe overnight stops for motor homes

We travel all over this country watching and writing about pantomimes usually over Christmas. It is a real challenge to park and find places to stay overnight, I contact councils in the towns or cities we are visiting and they have been most helpful. We have now joined CAMpRA (Campaign for Real Aires UK) Please […]

Transport links

Bolton needs to be included in the greater Manchester tram system to encourage more use of public transport for the many people who work in Manchester. It would also make the town more attractive to those who work in the city and lead to greater financial benefits and improvement within the town. The centre also […]

New roads

More, wider and well maintained roads connecting Bolton to Wigan, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale e.c.t. The motorway network forces everyone to drive towards Manchester and then back out to other towns. More houses are being built without additional road capacity.

Roads

The roads in daisy hill are so full of potholes they genuinely damage vehicles. Particularly Daisy Hall Drive and France street. I would suggest fixing the streets we drive on every day before spending loads of money making buildings look prettier.

Youth

I would suggest making a youth club or some for lm of activities to engage in the youth of this town. The group numbers are increasing and those affected are local supermarkets and thinks give them something to keep occupied

Investment and Online Cooperation

Reducing business rates to attract domestic and foreign Investment Bolton is a classic example of a town that has essentially been neglected in the past few years. I’m afraid that without a major conversion, there will be severe consequences on businesses. One way to attract new life is to reduce the business rates. We also […]

Crime

We DESPERATELY need more police patrol to tackle the increasing crime rates in my area (I live in Deane, Bolton). My neighbours and I have had cars broken into, burglaries, stolen bins, vandalism and disorderly behaviour from gangs. Most of these incidents have been reported to the police but VERY LITTLE is done in response. […]

Town centre green spaces

More green spaces and trees are needed in the town centre. New developments should not only be buildings and hard paving. The occasional green plot would give a feeling of nature, space and relaxation for better well being.

Tarmacking

Re-do the roads/streets that need doing because the roads in Bolton are ridiculous. We need better parks and more places to take young children too. Make Bolton Town Centre a better place because it’s a dump! Half of it has been deserted and more places are being closed down.

Kearsley

That Kearsley is given a larger amount for regeneration of both Farnworth and Kearsley, we need all the roads resurfacing. We need all our parks bought into usable conditions like Queens Park. Save the bowling greens that are threatened with closure. We need a good community centre also.

Tram

I would love to see teams implemented to connect us to Manchester. I believe this would help to boost the economy within our town, particularly for people who are more interested in non-city leisure. The team should also run at night to ensure people can safely get home from Manchester. We used to have trains […]

Improve the quality of roads and especially paths. St Helen’s road is one of the main roads into Bolton and is in terrible condition, the path is even worse. Bolton could be such a nice place and they are putting so much into the town centre. Don’t forget about the outskirts where people live.

Town Centre

Investment in developing the town centre as a destination town people want to spend their time and money – nice restaurants, bars etc. There are plenty of people in/around Bolton with disposable income but the town centre has been left to decline over years hence they travel to Manchester and towns such as Horwich instead.

Investment in the town centre

Bolton town centre used to be a great place to visit, lots of shops, large family swimming pool, good restaurants. It’s now shabby, run down and many shops have closed down. Many local people are now choosing to shop and eat at surrounding retail parks as it is a much better experience.

We need to attract people to the town centre by giving them a reason to go. I live in Heaton and never go, there are no restaurants or good quality social attractions that would make me want to go with my wife. Put Bolton back on the map!
