Motorhome Tourism (Aires)

The UK has for years been missing out on this lucrative motorhome tourist market, (which is increasing rapidly), unlike in Europe where it is a valued earner of hundreds of millions of Euros for the local economies, France alone has more than 6,000 Aires in villages, towns and cities. These Aires (parking space for motorhome), […]

Bicycle routes

Please note I very rarely cycle but when I moved to Bridgwater 18 years ago, I used to see loads of people cycling especially along Bath and Bristol Roads, due to Gerber and the other industries. Its an ideal town to be a cycling champion as it is so flat but I see on a […]

Public Living Rooms in Empty Shops

We need to create spaces where people can feel safe, drop in and feel part of a community, Public Living Rooms have been successful in other areas often opened in empty shops Camerados is a national organisation which encourages and supports the creation of these spaces. It’s a simple message of looking out for each […]

A Bridgwater Local App

A Bridgwater local App where you could put in an item (like key cutting) and it would show you where local you could do that. You could also search for knitting club and it would bring up all those clubs in Bridgwater. Maybe it could also ping you when you are near something happening?

Public transport

Later buses for those working late and have to walk home in the dark/night. Also more regular buses for those that have to be somewhere at certain times but cant make it due to disabilities/children.

Why?

Why spend the money, the government spends millions each year on things that have very little to no impact to our self’s the public.. They should stop spending so much money in turn taxing the people less. actually do some good with the money they are spending so we can feel the benefits from it, […]

Make it Green!

I moved to Bridgwater due to my job in the local area, but I never would of chosen to live here otherwise as it needs a lot of work. The environment and planet is the most important thing that needs focusing on for the future of humanity and all living creatures. Any decisions on work […]

Another Taunton Road

Please make another route to Taunton. Taunton road is absolutely packed everyday, Every evening it’s a small town designed for a medium amount of people. However due to HPC we get more traffic, more noise and a nuclear power point and only 25M. We need this. A new route to Taunton that helps ease Taunton […]

Dredging

I thought it would be a good idea as it will look more appealing to the eye. Why not dredge the River Parrett? Wouldn’t it be good to have cleaner water flow thought the town instead of mud ?

A great indoor shopping centre

An indoor shopping shopping centre that contains main high street brands like river island, jd, primark etc inclusive of space for smaller indipendant shops and businesses to run from. Small stalls in the centre for indipendant traders i.e jewleey makers, crafts and gift makers to sell their products. The state of the town as it […]

Youth areas

Although we have two good skateparks in bridgwater one at the YMCA and the other in victoria park theres isn’t any lighting on either area making it impossible to use in the winter months. This mean kids are resorting to skateboarding in carparks that are lit in the evenings putting them in danger and also risking […]

Leisure

a complex with swimming, arcades, bowling and things that will attract younger people to visit Bridgwater instead of going away to the likes of Taunton or Weston especially when traffic is bad in summer. Don’t send people else where have them want to come to bridgwater.

Flooding

Flood defences and thorough river dredging to take place to minimise the potential of flooding within the area. The river parrett has been rather high lately.

Transport

Bus service to be cheaper so that people can afford to catch the buses, to make it an insentive for people to use the service so less traffic.

The Old Odeon Building

A complete modernisation, preserving the facade. It needs, desperately, to attract some new business premises. This is one of the first views of the Town that visitors by road will see, and definitely does not create a good impression.

Connected Cycle Paths

Cycle paths currently do not link up around the Town. New and recent developments have good cycle path provision. However, in other parts of the Town cycle path provision is non existent. Better connectivity would encourage more people to use their bikes…

Town Centre

There is no good shopping or activity places in a town Centre, it is full of pubs, failing bakeries and corner shops

Faster internet

We need faster and more reliable internet I’ve heard so many people get annoyed at providers like Sky for how slow or unreliable it is. It’s time to level it up.

Leisure

A leisure centre with sports facilities and clubs (e.g. badminton, tennis) and a swimming pool which is suitable for children and families with things like a wave machine, rapids, etc (like Sedgemoor Splash which was knocked down to make way for a Tesco superstore that was never built), perhaps a bowling alley or something similar, […]

Better shopping

Yes we are having new shops built but, it’s the same shops we already have, we would love a better range of shops in town to make shopping better, like primark or other brands of shops rather then another subway or card factory, the town centre is becoming dead filled with gambling shops and charity […]

Activities and town centre

I think it’s essential more activity based centres are built to keep kids and adults active. Not everyone wants to go to a gym and work out. I suggest a bouldering centre, it’s great for the body and is always very social. I also think a lido would be a great addition for summer months. […]

Transport

Possible new bypass, to help ease congestion in and around town. I live in minehead and work in bridgewater. I feel for the local people who live there as traffic isn’t just busy in rush hour but most of the day with butlins being a big contributor to traffic especially in the summer, it would […]
