We travel all over this country watching and writing about pantomimes usually over Christmas. It is a real challenge to park and find places to stay overnight, I contact councils in the towns or cities we are visiting and they have been most helpful. We have now joined CAMpRA (Campaign for Real Aires UK) Please […]

Road infrastructure

Burton needs major investment in both its current roads and plans for new roads. Current roads across the town are in a bad state. Potholes need to be fixed with a long term view instead of just filling them in, the project to close and resurface Shobnall Road/Forest Road last year is an example of […]

A third bridge near the library

Both bridges in Burton are absolute chaos for several hours of the day. I’ve spent over an hour travelling a few miles through Burton town Center in rush hour. Which seems to be standard now. You wouldn’t expect this even in big cities. The roads serious need to be given some thought in this town.

The town is embarrassing to visit. No more out of town shopping centres should be built. Financially support businesses back into the centre and use empty buildings for homeless shelters.Build new houses on brownfield sites refurbishing the grand old factories where possible.

Training facilities

An increase in real life working environments for local vocational training establishments in line with labour market need. For example, a training hotel, restaurant, construction service etc. where standards are high and closely regulated by trainers, whilst providing students with the opportunity to train in a real environment and providing a high standard yet subsidised […]

Roads and Leisure

The quality and repair of current roads must be a priority. It’s costing people so much money in vehicle repairs and causes dangerous driving to avoid potholes. We desperatley need a bypass or something similar to deal with the heavier traffic from the A38 and on Burton’s two bridges. Finally, to keep youngsters out of […]

Roads, young families and homeless

Definitely get the roads completely resurfaced, so sick of the pot holes and I think another bridge would be good. Turn the dis-used buildings into cheap afford housing for young families. Put in play grounds and other means of free activities for children (not all families can afford national adventure farm). Use some of the […]

Appalling Road Conditions

The condition of the roads in Burton-on-Trent is truly appalling and needs urgent attention. Potholes everywhere are causing dangerous driving conditions and damage to vehicles. Please please put the money we pay in road tax to good use.

Roads a priority

Our roads are in a dismal state with deep potholes on the main route to the hospital. The roads are also very busy these days due to many new houses built. Traffic builds up very quickly. My local gp and many others are so full it makes booking an appointment very difficult. Burton has hardly […]

Roads

The roads are a joke. There are potholes everywhere that can’t be avoided, also the traffic in general it’s a nightmare. It takes you about 30 min to go from town to Stapenhill in rush hours which normally it takes 5 minutes to get there. I believe some alternative routes or making more lanes on […]

Public transport

All the buses from Swadlincote go down the A444 or through winshil, but I work on Ashby Road (A511) there are still bus stops and some people wait, not knowing that buses don’t go down there. Fill in pot holes (A444) New park, I’m a residential support worker and the people I look after love […]

Our history

Should focus on bringing tourism here. We have the niche of it being a brewing town. I feel our nightlife does not represent the brewing capital of the uk. I would love to see more class in my hometown, an injection of love. Also traffic is definitely an issue at rush hour. Especially the tesco […]

Roads and University

Burton Upon Trent needs a much improved road pattern to include a western and eastern relief road together with a third bridge over the Trent.Eventually this should become an outer ring road enabling traffic wishing to avoid the town centre to do so and traffic diverted from the A 38 (on occasions when that road […]
