Safe overnight stops for Motorhomes

We travel all over this country watching and writing about pantomimes usually over Christmas. It is a real challenge to park and find places to stay overnight, I contact councils in the towns or cities we are visiting and they have been most helpful. We have now joined CAMpRA (Campaign for Real Aires UK) Please […]

Improvements for Dudley

I would like the Dudley police station reinstated as I don’t think their current location is adequate. Some money could be invested in community patrol officers (either paid or volunteers) who could be visually on the streets and around parks, informing police of serious crimes. More lighting and CCTV linked to the police station in […]

Bus Station

Motorsport venue.

I would like to suggest having an area dedicated to Motorsport scene. This will reduce the number of people dangerously driving on the public roads. A space for motorcycles to wheelie, cars to drift, a place to legally race. Honestly, even a small racetrack or dragstrip will bring more revenue into the Blackcountry. Most marshalling […]

Investment in the town centre

I would like to suggest more investment into the town centre and the Dudley markets given a whole refurbishment, I think more money should be put into the appearance and aesthetics of the town and more shops and restaurants situated in the town centre to attract more people into the town.

Public transport

Make it more available and make it free. Make busses run more often in certain places and make more direct routes to places. Make routes to places that don’t have stops and once again make it free!

Clean

I feel that the overall appearance of Dudley should be improved. Dudley is a beautiful town and I’ve lived here since I was born, but I feel that some places are dated and worn. An improvement in green spaces and an overall gentrification of the area would make Dudley even more liveable.

Town regeneration

A revamp of the shopping area. Towns like Stratford, lichfield etc., attract visitors from all around. Dudley’s history should be incorporated through its town and Dudley can offer attractions such as the Black Country Museum and a Zoo. It offers beautiful architecture and past that should not be overlooked by offering cheap shops and poor […]

Saving Dudley Hippodrome

Dudley Hippodrome was one of the Countries major Theatres in the 1930s through to the 1960s. It was closed as a Gala bingo hall in 2009 and was bought by the Council in 2010. A group of enthusiasts have been trying to bring the building back to life since 2012, but with very little help […]

Brierley Hill (In Dudley)

Just on a whole, the high street seems to a bit a rundown place filled with the majority of buildings with mini shops and takeaways. An increase of mini mart shops over the past couple years have just turned out to be a front with the cover up to illegal trading. Maybe prevent anymore places […]

Historic St John’s Church, Kates Hill

Grade II listed St John’s Church is situated in the most deprived ward of Dudley. With nominal investment it can create an outstanding visitor destination, adding greatly to the tourism economy of the whole town with high level viewing, cafe, enterprise opportunities, nature reserve with land train, training cafe, museum, community facility and yet remain […]

Youth

Invest in activities and places for young people to go and learn how to be good citizens. Give them hope and meaning to their lives and ensure the next generation of people in Dudley have a better standard of living than the previous one.

Community integration projects

I would like to propose more funding for community projects which ensure the bringing together of the community, allowing people of different backgrounds ages and beliefs to experience what it means to be a community, through work shopping, regular group activities and other social opportunities. This will in turn reduce a multitude of problems which […]

Bins

Can we please get proper recycling bins! Not the bags that fly away and disappear forever as soon as theres a slight gust of wind. I’m constantly ordering new ones, surely this isn’t good for the environment. Just a normal green wheelie bin would suffice, last alot longer too and look alot tidier than bags […]

More housing

The town centre is dead and decaying. Demolish everything from Barclays Bank up to top church. And build apartments and houses. Centralise the shops that are left in the Churchill centre. Stop wasting time and demolish the old hippodrome and turn it over the zoo or Black Country museum or for education . And whatever […]

Expanding the town centre

Transport

It takes approximately 1 hour in a morning to get from Kingswinford to Oldbury. I know Pensnett has had the light re-done, however I feel like more needs to be done to relieve traffic around the are. For example, Andy Street has just released a potential map of new trans to Russell’s Hall- why aren’t […]

Dudley

Ice Rink

An ice rink, possibly offering winter sports lessons too (eg. skiing & snowboarding) There aren’t any rinks nearby so this would appeal to many people in the area who can’t easily travel to Cannock, Telford, Tamworth etc. If the rink had it’s own hockey team that would also help draw people into Dudley from further […]

Roads

Fix the potholes on the roads around Dudley, some of the road quality is ridiculous. Some potholes are massive and could do serious damage to cars, they are extremely annoying to dodge and some cannot be dodged safely.

Decent shops

Definitely needs some free parking. Also needs some decent shops to bring people back to Dudley. I’m 55 and when I was younger Dudley was heaving with people. The outdoor market was packed with people. And the town was busy because there were decent shops. Merry Hill killed Dudley town.

Creative culture

Dudley needs to stop competing with Merry Hill and Bham. It will never win and that’s fine! There are lots of creative people in the area but this isn’t reflected in the town centre. With the improvements at the college, there should be a buzzing social scene with independent bars and restaurants. No one would […]
