Safe overnight stops for Motorhomes

We travel all over this country watching and writing about pantomimes usually over Christmas. It is a real challenge to park and find places to stay overnight, I contact councils in the towns or cities we are visiting and they have been most helpful. We have now joined CAMpRA (Campaign for Real Aires UK) Please […]

Swimming

Spent it on the leisure centre and making sure we have somewhere to go to get active and play sport. That should be a building the community can use all the time.

Dog poo bins

More dog poo bins. Wherever the canal is close to a road so many people use the canal to walk dogs. Town centre bins are the only ones anywhere near. All paths into saint johns woods, Gloucester Road fields, boat horse road/the Avenue, butt lane, harriseahead, rookery, talke Pitts, mow cop all these need more […]

Train Station Improvements

Kidsgrove Station is in a poor state yet used by many commuters. The bridge feels unsafe and rotting away, and most of the station is inaccessible with barriers up. The ticket office and facilities are not good enough, and the carpark is full during the week. It could be a hugely successful station at a […]

Swimming pool

Put funding back to reopen the swimming pool and leisure centre, in order to help reduce anti social behaviour. This will give our teens somewhere to go and focus their energy.

Shops rent to high

Give the shops a lower rent, so more shops will open, but for this make the shop keep clean the area, in front of there shops, so this would save the council doing it so saving them money.

Internet access, storage space, parking are all essential features for businesses. We have been a Kidsgrove resident since birth and have recently taken on business premises […]

Parking

The town is in very poor state and I feel this is because there is so little parking to get to the shops. There is a very small free carpark which is great but it’s usually always full with workers cars

Park

The open space known to some as Chinky Park is just a desolate space. By improving it, creating a better skate park, it could be a nice communal area particular in the summer for, markets, fetes etc

shop frontages

I think all shop frontages need to be improved to improve the visual appearance of the town. At the moment it seems rather drab with some shops looking like they are still in the 1960’s! I understand some shop can’t afford it, but improving the frontages, new pavements, lighting etc will help to improve this. […]

Shopping facilities

I feel as though the shopping centre at affinity is poor. Poor selection of shops and only attracts a specific age range with lack of fashion resources as for anything I want I have to travel the distance for. Would love some upgrades to the local community in terms of retail Facilities

Transport Hub

Improve the parking around the rail station to prevent double parking on the station approach. Police the parking on double yellow lines. Free parking would discourage parking on yellow lines and all along the main Liverpool road A50. Put in a path so users from the Clough Hall area can walk to the station and […]

Leisure centre

Open up and rebuild the leisure centre and swimming baths… There is nothing for our children to do… Bordem leads to petty crime and vandalism… Make it accessible to all backgrounds.

Playground Facilities

The playground at Bathpool Park is dated which is a shame as the area is lovely and right in the heart of the community. An upgrade to this could make an Amazing place for families to spend time.

Creating Pride

I firmly believe going back to basics can instil a sense of pride in a community. I grew up in Kidsgrove at a time when grass verges were well kept, greens were kept, litter picked up, etc. It looked clean. As a result, I believe most people wanted to do their part to keep it […]

Leisure Facilities

Leisure facilities to be brought back! The gym and swimming membership but at an affordable cost too. I used to enjoy going the gym classes and swimming for £14.99 a Month. It will be a great investment for our community as the closest leisure facilities are biddulph or Newcastle with extortionate memberships! I also think […]

One way system

I would like to see a one way system imposed at the canal tavern where the road crosses over two canals, these bridges were built a couple of hundred years ago and were great for the occasional horse and cart, but two way traffic is unsuitable, too many people object to waiting to allow other […]

A transport hub on or nearby Kidsgrove train station utilising the current free car park on station road converting the small free car park to a small bus station where all visitors can conveniently catch a bus to anywhere in the potteries by changing bus routes slightly to accommodate the small bus station therefore reducing […]

More business opportunities locally

Either the creation or a new building, or the acquisition of some existing building to allow for the creation of a small business hub in the area. Would suggest it’s based on digital businesses as that would allow for more businesses within a smaller area (due to not needing space for physical products etc.) Could […]

Improve local road networks to ease congestion & improve local air quality

Removal of the traffic lights in Kidsgrove town centre, replacing it with an appropriate roundabout or similar measure (traffic lights were not installed historically according to local history images). Increases traffic flow and reduces maintenance costs going forward as these have historically failed a lot. Also made a no right turn into Heathcote St when […]
