Litter disposal

Litter and fly tipping is a massive problem in Peterborough. As it is their is never enough opportunity for young people to get a job employing teenagers to litter pick in their local area would not only keep them busy and give them money as incentive but also clean up the streets.

Invest into charities

That the government give back what local government has taken from local charities that are front line trying to help the most vulnerable in the city. Funding has been massacred across the city. Let’s give back before we invest in luxury unimportant ideas.

Care homes

More reasonable prices care homes run by the people of peterborough not for profitability and good living wages for the workers

Support Little Miracles

That the charity receives some funding to support families that have children with disabilities and life limiting conditions. They support the most vulnerable children in the city with and really need support to enable this to continue. To invest in key roles would enable them to become sustainable and allow them to support more families […]

Skyscrapers

Skyscrapers (especially in city centre) could improve the economy influencing more tourists, of course, after COVID-19 to save room and improve how our wonderful city looks.

International Airport

Local airports around Peterborough aren’t international and one of them are for Training. All International Airports are over an hour away and the closest is East Midlands. If we could have our own international airport we can grow our cities name, introduce tourists to it and save citizens from taking long journeys.

More places for live music

A venue dedicated to live music for up and coming bands in the peterborough area. We have no music scene here at all and barely any places for aspiring bands in the area to get experience playing live. Not to mention something else for everyone to do on a quiet evening. It would be a […]

Homelessness

Help aid homeless people. Keep them of the streets. Perhaps help with housing & job seeking. As a female I feel unsafe walking through the city streets as there is constant fighting, shouting, screaming between homeless people here in Peterborough, especially the main square.

Better Arterial Roadways

Would like to see an improvement of the main arterial roads around Peterborough as many were designed several decades ago and now suffer from not being able to handle traffic well in peak use. This would include a dualling of the A47 and A15 which are both single lane in places.

Significant improvements to public transport infrastructure in Peterborough

Peterborough is in dire need of investment for public transport services, this is an issue that is often flagged up and is evident for Peterborough being labeled as the most car dependent city in the UK by the ‘Campaign for Better Transport’s – 2014 car dependency report’. Poor access to transport can leave people feeling […]

Youth Centre & Services

As a city, Peterborough has very for services benefitting young people, leaving them to their own means during school holidays and evenings at an age that independence is more common. There is also a huge substance abuse and homelessness issue in the city, which young people need to be protected from in order to tackle […]

More affordable housing

We in Peterborough have found it tough to get people living in affordable homes. Homelessness and in work poverty is on the rise and with the lack of care & attention given to these issues it’s important to keep them in mind. Affordable housing will help many get on the property ladder and reduce crowded […]

3G football pitch

I will like to suggest 3G 11-a-side football pitch at the empty ground at playground near city college town centre!! I run sports association in the city and there is no football pitch to play football for young and adult who love to practice football!! Some time most of this youngster have to jump the […]

Buy out the car parking spaces ownes by private companies and make it free to park and go shopping and go to the park with the kids when you want. Please dont buy sculptures they are usually bloody ugly. Buy some green space […]

Renovate cycle paths

I love the cycle paths within the city. However, some of them are in a better state than others. I cycle from Whittlesey to lynch wood. Some are cracked and warped. It would also be nice to have lighting on all of them

More opportunities for young people

As a young person, I find Peterborough boring. The shops are scarce, we need a bigger shopping centre and University or places where people from other cities come to just like I go to Cambridge for shopping or to London for courses, cultural activities, concerts. Please help young people stay here! Thank you.

Water taxi

A water taxi service to and from the towns and villages in Peterborough Stanground Whittlesey etc. And to cut the grass more often. It’s disgracefully long most of the time.

Public transport

I would like Peterborough to have a comprehensive, green transport system with fast track bus lanes. Problems: Too time consuming, 10-15 mins to get anywhere by car but 30+ on the bus Too expensive £4+ one way Yaxley-town but two people can get a taxi for £7 Too unreliable, it’s common knowledge of how awful […]

Young People need social spaces

Peterborough has been voted one of the worst places to live. Bring back Youth centres across the ciy that were closed down in the late 1980,s certain youth clubs should specialise in activities for free in the evenings 7pm – 10pm for teenagers.. aged 13 to 18 ..Monday to Friday ie boxing, fencing, learning to […]

The town end of Lincoln Road

This area desperately needs regeneration – it’s a main route into the city centre and Queensgate and it is dreadful! Depressing, run down, desperate looking. Not the way we’d like visitors to our city to be welcomed! Smarten and coordinate the shop facades, decide on a theme – not more eateries please – maybe an […]

Clean up

Use these funds to clean up the city especially in the lower end areas, such as PE1, invest in large community bins located in areas where a lot of junk is dumped such as bamber street car park, it enables the car park to look cleaner and for waste to be disposed and recycled efficiently, […]

Science based museum

A City Rejuvenation

Greenest City

I’d like to suggest more education and more facilities to improve our environmental impact and improve the health and wellbeing of those in our communities. Could we trial car free zones in the city centre with exception of trades people and taxis (who qualify for a permit). Could we design initiatives to educate reduction of […]

Borris bikes

We have one of the best cycle routes in Europe, however not everyone can afford a bike, it would be nice to have borris bikes, with multiple drop off points around the city. This would help with Peterborough’s green credentials and encourage our growing population to exercise more, Along with showing off some of the […]

Indoor Skatepark

An indoor skatepark would be beneficial for the youth who like to ride their scooters, not every one has a source of travel to be going out of Peterborough to go to an indoor skatepark. If staff members were to run this then there will be less bullying and abuse in a leisure/ enjoyable environment. […]

A City Centre Revamp

Revitalise our Town Centre

Create areas of unique and alternative shopping and food experiences. This will mean reducing rents/lease costs as well as providing free/reduced parking to bring people into the centre. Hold street Market days within the centre with a variety of stalls from fresh fruit and vegetable to flowers, jewellery and clothing. Make it vibrant with striped […]

Hampton Railway Station

Regenerate the Townships

Peterborough has had a lot of money spent on “improvements” in the city centre in recent years- many of which have been controversial. At the same time, the two largest and oldest Townships of Bretton and Orton, have continued to be neglected and are showing a real need for investment. There are an inadequate number […]

Local independent business

I would like to see discounts or incentives for local independent business owners in the city centre. There is a real lack of choice for eating/drinking/socialising in town and it seems we are swamped with chains and brands with almost no options other than to invest in corporations. A reduction in business rates or rent […]

Duelling of the A47 making a safer journey for everyone. As a cyclist this really cannot come fast enough. Getting from Southorpe to Wansford is to dice with death but how else to get there? Riverside development

For the area along the River Nene, leading on from the new Fletton Quays apartments, to be turned into an amazing riverside zone, with art and music venues, cafes, restaurants and bars. Injection into public services

Hampton – New housing and road issues

Hampton has been expanded with two new housing estates (Hampton Gardens, Hampton Lakes) and because of this the A15 road (from Yaxley to Tesco roundabout in Hampton) regularly sees horrendously bad traffic. I believe this is a safety issue, as many more pedestrians are walking down this road every day (especially children due to the […]

Better public space and transport

One of the biggest employers in the area is the hospital. Other employers are out of the town centre. Due to […]

Queer arts and arts funding.

Peterborough has a struggling queer community, they have nowhere to call their own other than two low budget “Gay nights” at local clubs. We need to see an injection of support for queer youth in Peterborough. Creating a safe space for them to be themselves and be celebrated. This could be through the development of […]
