Transition Town

Work towards making Corby a more sustainable place to live – this includes carbon reduction, better public transport to encourage people out of cars, better cycle and walking connections including to outlying villages , better policies on litter and reduction of single use plastics.
Jon the Transition Network https://transitionnetwork.org/. Oundle is a nearby example, and Market Harborough has several initiatives including Refill Revolution (zero waste shop) in the Indoor Market.
On the litter front we could work with local cafes to promote the use of bring your own cups for takeaway coffees etc, by charging for disposables (25/50 p for charity perhaps?)
For more ideas see our Corby in Transition group on Facebook.

  1. I absolutely love this idea and couldn’t agree more. I’m really to keen to understand what we can do to make this a reality so will get in touch with the facebook group.

    1. A great idea, as someone who cycles to work bike lanes would be greatly appreciated. And hopefully encourage more people to cycle rather than take their cars for intra-town journeys.
