It is unlikely that we will see the return of traditional secondary education in the town. We should pursue establishment of Under 19s & Adults training courses and apprenticeships using partnerships with colleges in Lincoln, Grimsby and Boston, perhaps as ‘hub and spoke’ arrangements. There should be a focus on skills that are useful to digital / technology industries.
We need cohesive opportunities for lifelong learning, especially suited to the needs of older and retired members of the community. Those that are retired from professional or trade related careers should be encouraged, financially perhaps, to use their skills and knowledge to benefit younger members of the community.
The old Tennyson School is perfect for these alongside other needed facilities.
