Unified Vision

Before any other investment in the town, Scarborough needs a unified vision of what it wants to look like in the short, medium and long-term future. Applications for development are constantly turned down, with the reasoning of “they don’t fit into the plan for the area” (Restaurant at Royal Albert Park, lodges at the old Kinderland site, Flamingo Land on the Foreshore” – yet there is no clear and obvious plan for any elements of the borough.

Investing in a comprehensive, detailed plan for the development of the town and the surrounding borough would allow for better discussion and delivery, and would reassure developers and residents that investment is going to the right projects.

  1. Yes, I agree. so many projects started but not finished.
North Bay: just waiting for the cinema …that would save us all a long car journey to Hull or York, and would bring people into the town.

Futurist removed, but Not Finished. it only needed Kings Cliff Gardens to be extended across,

It’s great to see the South Cliff Gardens progressing – stage 2 looks interesting. But Not Finished.
Pedestrian area created, but Not finished, no trees, no zoned seating, no covered area – just a long empty strip of nothing.
