Lowestoft has been my home since I was a baby. Now at the age of 22 you’d think things would have improved. Not one bit.
Lowestoft desperately needs work. The high street & town centre area looks exactly the same as it did in the 90s. A cleaner, more appealing & nicer area would do so much.
Lowestofts beach, promenade & pier remain the greatest tourist attraction. This needs a makeover and a modernisation.
There are too many tiny businesses struggling through winter to make it to their summer of seasonal boom. They don’t have the money to innovate & grow. I think some bursary fund/helping hand scheme could help attract more tourists & young people.
Finally, lowestofts youth have felt opportunities minimised through the age of austerity. I believe a beach sport facility would help.
A personal point I’d like to make is regarding the current attempt to renew “Ness Point” the Uks most easterly place. A new skatepark here would add to the already fixed park plans.
