  1. Build a meeting place, FREE, for young/teenage people where they can go all day if necessary (especially in the holidays), giving them the facilities for learning, social interaction, indoor sports, discussion groups, music area (learning & playing), drama, car mechanics, Gaming, Art, Chess Clubs & more.

Many more FREE communal social activities are needed & available for all; dances; build a ten-pin bowling alley, bell ringing, coin & stamp club, photography, these are just a few ideas to start.

A FREE training centre for school leavers & job returners.

We need new life putting in Millom for all.

  2. As a retired youth and community worker I grieve at the amount of youth services that have been forced to close due to cut backs in central government funding. I have seen how informal support can help turn young people’s lives around. They are our future and we should be giving them a good start in life. Alongside improving services for young people there must be strong anti-bullying policies with appropriate action, bullying is far, far, worse than when I was young and young people are developing mental health problems as a result, some even taking their own lives. We must try and stop this bullying epidemic wherever it raises its head, be that at school, in the work place or wherever.

  3. The children definitely needs a safe place to go at night , games music
Open mike , we may have some budding musicians in Millom!
